Owlio is priced per student, per academic year. Request a demo and we'll prepare a quote for the number of students who will use it.

Yes. After the demo call we can open a trial account for your school, so your teachers can see Owlio with their own eyes before you decide.

There are four steps: a 30-minute demo call, a trial account if you'd like one, a quote based on your student count, and setup. We do the setup for you: we build your students' learning path around your coursebook, assign teachers to their classes, and create a username and password for every student, delivered as printable login cards.

Very little. We build the learning path, set up classes and teachers, and create the student accounts. Your teachers hand out the login cards, and students can sign in.

An Owlio licence runs for one academic year and is renewed each year. When the new year starts, students' progress, learned words, badges and collections carry over — nobody starts from zero.

Owlio is curriculum-first: your school's learning path follows the coursebook you already teach — same units, same order — and each unit carries as many books and word lists as your teachers want.

Whichever coursebook your school uses. Owlio is set up for each school around its own coursebook, so the units of the learning path follow that book's units and order.

The library's books are graded from CEFR A1 to C1. The levels your students work at, and the units of their learning path, follow your school's coursebook.

Yes. Students say words aloud, and Azure speech assessment scores each word from 0 to 100. Every word gets two tries and the better score counts. If your school turns leaderboards on, there is a pronunciation leaderboard for each school and grade. Owlio does not store the recordings.

Every word a student practises is scheduled with spaced repetition (SM-2): a first review after 1 day, then after 6 days, then at growing intervals. Daily Review gathers the words that are due, and a word counts as learned once its interval passes 21 days.

Three: a book assignment (read the chapters and finish the book quiz), a word-list assignment (practise the unit's word list) and a unit assignment (a whole learning-path unit, with its books and word lists tracked together). Each has a start date and a due date, and Owlio marks it complete for each student on its own.

Four: Reading Progress (who is reading, who is at the quiz, who has finished — down to each student's chapters, reading time and first quiz attempt), Assignment Performance (completion for every assignment), Class Overview (students, books finished, word bank and recent activity per class) and My School (your school's averages compared with the platform average).

Any computer, tablet or phone with a modern web browser and an internet connection. Owlio runs in the browser at app.owlio.co, so there is nothing to install. For class games you need one shared screen: a projector, a smart board or a tablet.

One screen and the teacher. The games run on a projector, a smart board or a tablet; students answer out loud in teams and the teacher taps the screen. No student devices or student accounts are needed.

No. Students sign in with a username and password only. Teachers can print login cards for the whole class, and if a student forgets their password, the teacher can reset it.

No. Owlio runs in the web browser at app.owlio.co and needs an internet connection. There is no offline mode and no App Store or Google Play app.

They are off by default. Weekly leagues and leaderboards are switched on only if your school wants them.

There is currently no separate parent panel. A student's progress — books, streak and badges — is visible in their own profile in the app, and teachers see detailed reports for every student.

Owlio's database runs on servers in Frankfurt, in the EU. Students don't need an email address to use Owlio. Our product analytics never receive students' names or email addresses, and IP capture is turned off. Owlio does not store pronunciation recordings: audio is sent to the speech service only to be scored.
