About Owlio
Our mission
Owlio is an English reading and vocabulary platform for schools. Every student deserves English practice they actually enjoy — not another worksheet in disguise. Owlio brings learning science and game design together, so daily reading and vocabulary practice becomes the moment students look forward to, and teachers can see what each student has really done.
How Owlio thinks
Curriculum-first.
Owlio never asks teachers to change how they teach. Each school's learning path is built around the coursebook it already uses: the units follow the coursebook's units in the same order, and each unit's word lists come from that unit. Practice in Owlio reinforces this week's lesson instead of competing with it for class time.
Science-backed.
Every word a student practises is scheduled with SM-2 spaced repetition: back after 1 day, then 6 days, then at growing intervals until it counts as learned. In vocabulary sessions each word climbs from recognising it, to building it, to producing it from memory. In reading, comprehension is checked inside the story, and the book quiz keeps going until the student has answered every question correctly.
Fun by design.
Streaks, quests, creature cards and badges aren't decoration — they are the reason students come back tomorrow. Karaoke narration reads every book aloud, any word opens its meaning on tap, and teachers can turn a lesson into a class game on the projector. Competition is optional: leaderboards stay off unless the school wants them.

One platform, four roles.
Students
Read levelled books with karaoke narration, practise their coursebook's words, say words aloud for a pronunciation score, and earn XP, streak days and creature cards along the way.
Teachers
Give book, word-list and unit assignments, follow progress in four reports, and run one of six class games on the projector.
Heads of department
See every class in the school and assign teachers to classes.

Licenses Owlio for the school year, priced per student. We do the setup: the learning path, classes and teachers, and every student's login.
